Spy photos of Ford’s upcoming 2009.5 Harley-Davidson F-250 may be proof that pickup truck engineers have a wicked sense of humor.
In addition to its unique Harley-Davidson wheels, the Harley F-250 mule caught here is wearing the undercarriage prep kit for “THE BOSS” snowplow.
What’s so funny about a snowplow hitch and wiring harness? Boss is also the name of Ford’s expected large-displacement 6.2-liter V-8. The Boss engine program recently had its scope reduced, according to Mark Fields, Ford Americas president.
Sources say the SOHC 2-valve Boss engine will find its way under the hood of the Harley-Davidson F-250, and other Super Duty models. Naturally aspirated power ratings are expected to be just under 400-horsepower and 400 pounds-feet of torque. Production is expected to start by Spring 2009.
